EGC Begins Team Sanctioned Competitions at USAG Level Three

All Compulsory Gymnasts Learn a Set Routine According to Level

Levels 3-6

Levels 3-6 are known as the compulsory levels of competitive team gymnastics. EGC begins team sanctioned competitions at USAG level 3. A gymnast must be 5 years old to compete at this level - which is considered a developmental compulsory level. This means that there is a set routine that every level 3 throughout the country will learn and perform for competitions on each of the four olympic events.

USAG level 4 is the first level that EGC competes at a State Championship competition. The minimum age requirement for this level is six years old. Level 4 is also considered a developmental compulsory level with more advanced skills than are seen at level 3.

Compulsory levels 5 and 6 are progressive in nature, building upon the skills required at the previous level. Level 6 is an advanced compulsory level.

Levels 7-10 are the "optional" levels, which means that each gymnast has a unique routine for each of the four olympic events. For more information, click here.
